  2. Further Document or Create Tutorial for SimpleMDM App Deployment

    I've seen mentioned in Slack and seen in my own deployments that a fair amount of confusion comes from having SimpleMDM appear to be listed as an available app, even though a customer still needs to purchase it via VPP in order to deploy it. In my own first usage, I attempted to deploy with out purchasing, and when I figured out what was going on, I was able to correct the problem, but the installation took some time.     SimpleMDM currently supports a few different options between iOS (ex. Lost Mode) and macOS (ex. Lock command). I am closing this request since these options already exist, but if there are additional features you would like to see added, please submit a new suggestion with a detailed description of what you are looking for.

  5. maintain lost mode when a device is re-enrolled

    I've noticed that when a user re-enrolls a device, the lost mode is not maintained , and we have to set lost mode again manually, would be good if this could be maintained or if lost mode could be set automatically on a specific device group (e.g. for lost or stolen devices)

  6. more visuals and more data control

    ability to see what on the phone is using data and how much. Also the ability to see what the browsing history is on the phones. Ability to look at phone as if you had the phone in your hand and be able to change things thru this program and then see it change visually. Make the iPhone more visual thru mdm.

    This is not something Apple currently makes available via MDM.

  7. add a self-service portal that can be used to host links to apps that are non-VPP

    We need students to be able pick from a list of suggested apps via a self-service app or page. These are not VPP apps, rather they are apps that students will purchase personally.

  8. Put the main device screen back to how it was.

    They were grouped so nicely. I could see all my devices on one page, neatly organized by expandable groups. Why default to 20 devices? Why take away the expandable groupings?

  9. Force install app update

    Sometimes the device will popup a confirmation before installing an app. Maybe it should be better to install without a confirmation.

    Hi Rick- This is behavior determined by iOS, not SimpleMDM. To force a “silent” app install without prompting the user, make sure that you have VPP licenses available (if an App Store App), the device is Supervised, and the app is not currently open by the user.

  10. Push Custom Bookmarks and website tiles to the home screen

    I would like to add custom URL's as tiles on a given page on the home screen and add bookmarks too in the safari app for my managed iPads.

    This is available already using the Web Clip profile. Per Apple's design, bookmarks can be added only to Safari via MDM when using a Web Content Filter profile.

  18. Admin lockout of map path tracking

    It's really cool from an admin perspective that you keep a history of a device's location. From a user perspective, that's really creepy, and we do not want that functionality.

    Best outcome would be to not store this data at all. However, even if the information is still stored somewhere in a database, can we please have the option to turn off the display of location history on a map?

    This is a critical security concern.

  20. Lost Mode pending status

    We've set Lost Mode for a device. The banner that indicates this doesn't persist. We'd like to see the pending request for Lost Mode persist in the dashboard/status view for the device.
