Implement Login Window MDM payload settings for Apple devices
Please consider implementing the Login Window MDM payload settings for Apple devices so that we can assign loginwindow settings (e.g., name/password vs. icon, login banner, etc.) for the loginwindow of macOS devices.
This feature is discussed here: https://support.apple.com/guide/mdm/login-window-payload-settings-mdm2a822b29/web.

add ability to upload custom icons
When creating custom apps, it would be nice if we could upload a custom icon with it.
11 votesCustom icons can now be uploaded for custom apps & nopkgs that are deployed using SimpleMDM's hosted Munki integration. When enabled, the Managed Software Center will display the provided custom icon.
Please note: Once the app is installed, the application will still use whichever icon was specified in the pkg/dmg. Additionally, custom pkgs that are only eligible for deployment via the MDM protocol do not currently support custom icons. This would require the pkg itself to be modified.

Add a base Hashicorp Vagrant "Shared App" to the list
Since quite a few people use Hashicorp Vagrant, and Docker is trying to make money again.
Adding a basic install of Vagrant to the list of Shared Apps would probably benefit quite a few people.Stretch goal: Letting folks submit munki recipes to be approved and shared, since most of us just use AutoPKG with the simplemdm plugin.

An enrollment date would be nice.
Just a date that lets you know when the device was enrolled. Give you an idea of the age of the device.

Allow greater configuration of Web Content Filters (FilterBrowsers)
The Web Content Filter profile creator does not support all the features offered by Apple (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/webcontentfilter). In particular, configuring Crowdstrike Falcon requires setting a FilterDataProviderBundleIdentifier and associated permissions that are not configurable in SimpleMDM. This necessitates using a custom profile right now.
5 votesThis is now supported in the native Web Content Filter profile in SimpleMDM.

Display Architecture of App in Shared Catalog
Many apps now offer separate Intel, Apple Silicon & Universal Binary builds. Knowing which version is available in the shared app catalog will be very useful during the architecture transition.
8 votesArchitecture for Shared Apps and custom apps that have architecture specified are now indicated within the admin interface with one of the following tags: Intel, Universal, or Apple Silicon.

Allow scoping of profiles via Device OS type (eg. Macs / iOS / iPadOS)
Its often the case where iOS devices and macOS devices have differing passcode policies (user experience of a entering complex passwords on touchscreen keyboard).
Currently it's not possible to scope one passcode profile to different OS types. Same goes for custom profiles.. if you are using them, often profiles that don't apply to an iOS device end up being deployed unnecessarily (and hopefully ignored).
Extending the scope for OS types would be very useful.

Add extra fields to the device list
The device list currently displays:
Device Name Initial Group Model Status Serial Number EnrollmentIt would be useful to be able to customize the fields being shown to include or exclude any of the fields available, including custom attribute fields.
15 votesCustom attributes and additional fields can now be displayed on the devices index page. Click the gear in the table to select more columns.
If there are additional specific attributes you would like, please create a new request.

lock message for Macs
The Apple MDM framework has allowed a message to be sent with a lock command since macOS 10.14.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/lock_a_device https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/devicelockcommand/command
Please add a way to send a message to Macs with the lock command in the SimpleMDM interface.

You may find that selecting the “Hide Device-Assigned Profiles” option from the dropdown menu above the profiles listing achieves the view you are looking for.

Enable Remote Management
Apple docs suggest there is an Enable Remote Management MDM command available, I can also see Remote Desktop Enabled as a field in the device Security section- would be useful to have a per device / per group option to enable this for the MDM-generated admin account. Handy for those of us still using ARD, and easier than signing up for a developer account building a signed package just to run a shell script.
5 votesPlease find a new “Enable Remote Desktop” action on the device details screen.

Google Chrome version for both M1 and Intel.
The Google Chrome version supplied in Munki it's pointing to the Intel version of the app which doesn't work well for M1 laptops, where the M1 version of the app is hybrid and work properly in both Intel and M1 chips. Would it be possible for you to change the source so it deploys the hybrid app and not the Intel one?
1 voteGoogle Chrome in the Shared App Catalog has been upgraded to the universal binary version. Additionally, the application now allows the end user to enable auto updates if they so desire.
