  1. Expose Custom App "Pre-stage priority" in API

    The Custom App Screen (https://a.simplemdm.com/admin/apps/{APP_ID}) allows for a configurable "Pre-stage priority" for Device-level App Installation during DEP enrollment. This value has a pre-set range of 0-10 (inclusive) available in the UI.

    Please update the Application API (https://a.simplemdm.com/api/v1/apps/) to:

    1. Expose the "Pre-stage Priority" value on all List/Retrieve responses for /api/v1/apps/
    2. Allow for setting the "Pre-stage Priority" during App Creation and App Update

  4. Add "1 day" to the dropdown for "When a device hasn't been seen" notification

    In your notifications section of the portal, I can select a minimum of 3
    days for the event lag:

    When a device hasn't been seen for
    3 days

    Please add an option for 1 day. Some of us need this for compliance with our security certs and auditors. Note that if someone sets this to 1 day and it's too "noisy" because people turn off their laptops on weekends or their device runs out of power during a
    holiday, then they could always switch it back to 3 days.

  6. Increase pkg accepted size for custom apps and allow for Adobe pkg upload

    I am trying to load up packages for Adobe Suite on an Feature Restricted License. So no cloud access. The total Suite size is around 28.5 GB. I am not necessarily suggesting allowing for the full suite to be uploaded in one go. I have divided out the installs and the largest install is After Effects at 5.9GB. So if the file size could be adjusted to 6000MB that would be sufficient. Photoshop is 5.5 GB, Premiere is 4.15 GB, Character is 4.08 GB.   8. Add an ability to deliver any type of file to the device

    I have been writing scripts that export files (company logos, custom apps without signatures, etc) from base64 encoded strings and while it works it is tedious to do.

    It would be nice to have a form on the admin portal where we can upload a file or set of files (of any type) and specify the file path where we would like those files to be deployed on the managed device.

    The Add Media function already has pdf and epub covered here, but this would dramatically expand the delivery capabilities of the MDM.

  9. Remote Desktop Enable API - Return HTTP 20x instead of HTTP 400 if already enabled on client

    The Remote Desktop Enable API - https://simplemdm.com/docs/api/#enable-remote-desktop - currently returns an HTTP 400 response if the device the API is called against already has this enabled. The Disable API returns an HTTP 202 error regardless of whether the feature has not been disabled or has been disabled.

    I'm not entirely sure I see the value in the Enable API returning an HTTP 400 response when a device already has it enabled. A response that returns a relevant HTTP 20x value makes more sense in this instance because the setting has already been enabled. An HTTP 400 response only makes sense…

  10. Devices API and Webhook should include Managed Apple ID

    When using User Enrollment, the managed apple id is shown in the dashboard ui. However, this info is not included in device api or webhook request data.

    Please add this information into both device api and webhook, it will be super helpful to identify device to user.

  11. Maximum macOS version should include unreleased/imaginary OS versions

    Right now the max macOS version I can select for Big Sur (for example) is 11.6.5. I would like to specify a max version of <12 or 11.99.

    For Monterey, I would like to be able to specify <13 or 12.99.

  14. Implement some means of keeping device name and SimpleMDM name in sync

    I wouldn't mind if they were always the same, but perhaps separate names is useful to some so maybe just a checkbox in either rename widget that says "also update <the other> name

  15. Add ability to disable App Library in Dock (IOS)

    IOS 15 by default places an app library icon on the dock. This can be manually toggled off via IOS settings, but want ability to do this with MDM to keep Dock layout exactly as shown on Home Screen Layout profile.

  16. Add scheduled recurring reboots to UI

  18. Add a column for notes/location on the Devices screen

    On the main Devices screen, add a column for a notes field to detail location (probably a separate one from what's in the Device details/Settings tab so that can be used for more detailed info), so I could add info like "2nd floor", "Pam's office", etc and have it sortable & searchable

  19. Organize Custom Apps the same as Shared Apps

    Custom apps should behave the same way as Shared apps - allowing multiple versions to be uploaded and to have those versions displayed in a drop-down under a single app name under Assignment.

    Ideally SimpleMDM’s logic for displaying the custom app would follow what’s already in place for shared apps (which is great btw) specifically:
    • only 1 instance of the app is displayed in the Catalog by bundle ID or..?
    • the ability to select a specific version of the app in the assignment group

  20. Manually set notification for device once seen

    I would like to be able to select a device and have SimpleMDM send me an email notification when the device is next seen. For example, if I have a device that hasn't been seen for a week and I want to know if someone powers it on, I would like to get an email once the device is seen again.
