  1. Automatically uninstall apps once they fall out of an assignment group selection

Assignment groups and scopes are great, but limited if they don't clean up after themselves. The option to have managed apps automatically uninstall themselves from devices that fall out of the Assignment Group selections would be great. For example, if a device is moved from one Device Group to another then all the apps assigned to the its new Device Group will get installed, but all of the ones from the old Device Group that are not assigned to the Device Group should be automatically uninstalled.

  2. Add ability to disable App Library in Dock (IOS)

IOS 15 by default places an app library icon on the dock. This can be manually toggled off via IOS settings, but want ability to do this with MDM to keep Dock layout exactly as shown on Home Screen Layout profile.

  3. Enable alerts control in MacOS Notification Center for Managed Software Center

At the moment, in the Notification Center, notifications for the Managed Software Center are allowed by default and greyed out. It then doesn't give the choice of turning off these notifications for users that can be easily distracted by any sort of notification

  4. Add Last Reboot detail to Devices

I'd like to be able to see when a device was last rebooted. If not in a column on the main Devices page, at least in the info tab of Device Details.

  5. Add a column for notes/location on the Devices screen

On the main Devices screen, add a column for a notes field to detail location (probably a separate one from what's in the Device details/Settings tab so that can be used for more detailed info), so I could add info like "2nd floor", "Pam's office", etc and have it sortable & searchable

  6. Organize Custom Apps the same as Shared Apps

Custom apps should behave the same way as Shared apps - allowing multiple versions to be uploaded and to have those versions displayed in a drop-down under a single app name under Assignment.

Ideally SimpleMDM’s logic for displaying the custom app would follow what’s already in place for shared apps (which is great btw) specifically:
    • only 1 instance of the app is displayed in the Catalog by bundle ID or..?
    • the ability to select a specific version of the app in the assignment group

  7. Add VPN Tracker 365 to Shared Apps list

It would be convenient to have the VPN Tracker 365 app within the list of Shared Apps (Munki).

The download page for that app is here: https://www.vpntracker.com/us/download.html

The 'Enterprise' installer for VPN Tracker 365 (which may be preferred) is here: https://www.vpntracker.com/download/VPN%20Tracker%20365%2022.0.0%20Enterprise%20Installer.pkg

  8. Link to the group's devices when viewing a group's Details page

When viewing a Group Details page, have a link to that group's devices.

It's a bit frustrating to land on the Group Details page and then have to go out to all Groups and then click on the number of devices on that page to then view the devices. I can't tell you how many times I've mindlessly clicked on the group name to view devices just to be annoyed and have to go back and click the device number instead. (As a relevant aside, using the device number to see a group's devices isn't ideal. The click target changes…

  9. Add FortiClient VPN to the list of apps in Munki

Would it be possible to add FortiClient VPN in the list of apps offered by Munki?

  10. Support custom attributes in Munki scripts

Now that custom attributes are supported in scripts, it would be great to see them supported in pre- and post-install scripts in Munki. Thanks!

  11. Increase munkiimport maximum package size from 5GB to 20GB

We attempted to upload a .dmg for Xcode 12.5.1 (approx 14GB) and hit an error:

    <Error><Code>EntityTooLarge</Code>
    <ProposedSize>13988766834</ProposedSize>.
    <MaxSizeAllowed>5368709120</MaxSizeAllowed>
    </Error>

The .xip file was downloaded from the Developer portal and unpacked in terminal using xip --expand.

Could the upload size be increased to 20GB to allow larger .dmgs to be delivered by SimpleMDM using Munki ?

Performance delivering Xcode from Apps & Books is patchy, and does not allow the running of a post install script to accept the licence and install the embedded packages.

This could be for a test instance initially to check performance.

    Non-integrated munki and local mirrors…

  12. Implement 2FA / OTP recovery codes

In case of loss of the device generating the OTP codes (think stolen / broken phone with Google Authenticator), SimpleMDM offers no way to recover one's account.

Most high-profile services (Google, Facebook, Github, etc.) when activating 2FA offer to save a list of one-time use recovery codes, used to gain access to one's account again. This makes it possible to setup 2FA on a new device.

It would be nice if SimpleMDM had such a feature.

    Thanks !

  13. Please support Munki `requires` and `update_for` values

Please support the configuration of the requires and update_for values in the package interface. It would be lovely to be able to configure these in either the catalog or assignments section. Thank you!

  14. Allow managment of System app on multiple devices

Currently we can delete a managed app from multiple devices, but if the app isnt managed (such as pre0install Apple apps) you have to drill down to each device individually and choose to manage the app before it can be deleted.

  18. Compare Profiles

It would be helpful to have a tool that would allow comparing profiles. In particular custom profiles, but I could see this being helpful with the others as well.

  19. notification when a duplicate serial number enrolls

So - I appreciate this is kind covered here:

    https://suggestions.simplemdm.com/forums/204404-suggestions/suggestions/17906179-device-audit-screen-find-duplicates-sort-by-last

But... we're drowning in duplicate entries. Basically they're almost all devices that have gone for repair, resulting in a new UUID (with the occasional virtual machine)

a webhook or other notification when a device with a pre-existing serial number enrols would really help us with our housekeeping.

  20. Compare groups

Would love the ability to compare the applied profiles etc. between two groups, highlighting the differences in simple language. This would be so useful in those cases when you've made clones over time, and it's not exactly clear how things have changed from one to the other.

For instance Group B differs from Group A...

Has different password profiles...30 day expiry vs 90 day.
Has one extra profile that adds WiFi credentails.
    Has different restrictions... Allowed Airdrop.

    Thanks
