    It's easy to accidentally pull a device into another group. Offer the option to disable drag-n-drop.

  2. Custom Fields

    I would like the ability to have custom fields, more than just a notes field. Ideally would like at least "Assigned to", "Asset tag #" so this information can be exportable. The notes field works, but multiple custom fields would be much more useful.

    Custom Attributes are now available in SimpleMDM. This allows you to define fields and assign values on a per-device basis. This information is exportable through the API.

    SimpleMDM supports scenarios where more than one device object may exist for a given serial number. Additionally, device objects do not always have serial numbers attached to them. For instance, a new device record may be created before device enrollment occurs. Such being the case, a serial number cannot function as a unique ID.

    Nonetheless, the Device – List All API endpoint has been expanded to support searching for devices based on serial number, UDID, phone number, and name. This allows for more efficient device ID lookups. More information is available here: https://simplemdm.com/docs/api/#list-all39

  4. Expose a field for the date a device was first enrolled in SimpleMDM

    Hey there, I am guessing you store this information in your database already and just have not exposed it as a field on the site / in your API, but it would be incredibly helpful for us, decision-making wise, to be able to export (via API or CSV file) the date when our devices were first enrolled.

    We are trying to do proper analysis about, e.g. device-loss metrics over time, and without this field, we have to dig into our order history or our Apple DEP files and cross-associate/reconcile the information.

  5. Include Group in Devices CSV Export

    It would be handy if the CSV generated by 'Export Devices' included a column with the SimpleMDM Group it belongs to.

  7. Put a message about not having SimpleMDM notifications if there are none

    Minor thing, if you have no notifications in SimpleMDM I think it should look a bit different. Either shouldn't let me expand/not show up, or should show "You have no notifications" or something like that.

  8. Homescreen Layout Changes

    Ability to go from Vertical to Horizontal layouts. Layouts Specifically for iPads/iPods/iPhones. Ability to add Folders for the apps as well.

    Home screen layouts currently support folders.

    Apple iOS does not permit defining layouts specifically for horizontal or vertical orientations at this time.

  9. Allow for WebClips to be supported in the Layout Module so they can be placed

    Can you add support for WebClips to be arranged on the Screen Layout pages as well. Everytime I make a change, the system automatically moves the WebClip icons to Page 2.

    This is now available for devices running the iOS 11.3 beta and later.

  10. Update Apple Store Apps.

    Can't Block or Allow Newer Apps. Such as the "TV" app from Apple. There are more I'm sure. This Needs to be updated more frequently. iOS 10 and up. Also, I would like the ability when creating Custom Screen Layouts for Devices to Have Access to or Pull in Apps that May not be in the App Store, but they are on our Devices or in their Listing. This way we can be more thorough with our Security and other protocols.

    Is there a way to prevent other administrators to view my billings? Money is a sensitive issue here, as the other administrators are not paying the services, i am.

  12. Allow for Device "Ping" when it hasn't been seen for a while

    IF a device goes "inactive" or has synced to the system develop a way to "ping" the device and try to wake it up, or force it to sync.

    Thank you for your suggestion! SimpleMDM already checks in with devices automatically, at least every hour. If a device has not been seen, something is preventing the device from responding or receiving communication requests.

    This currently can be accomplished with custom attributes. For instance, create a custom attribute named “simplemdm_group” and then assign a group-level value to the attribute for each group.

  16. Improve app update process for VPP device-based assignment apps

    It appears that an admin must manually force updates for apps distributed using VPP device-based assignment? Some features that would be nice to have: 1) Automatically control app updating via a policy setting; 2) Provide an option to queue the update until device is on wifi; 3) Show the current app version from the app store so it can be compared to current version on the device.

    Device-assigned VPP apps can now be set to auto-update from the Apps > Settings section.

  17. Notification for devices that have not reported location recently

    Sometimes our devices don't report location for extended periods of time, often because the user disabled location tracking for the SimpleMDM app. Typically we learn of this only when we go into device details for an individual device and notice that the map says "updated about 2 months ago," or something similar. It would be nice if there was (a) an email notification to administrators if a device has been turned on and checking in with MDM, but hasn't reported its location in x days, and/or (b) a way to report all devices that, again, are on and talking to…

  18. Allow removal of app(s) on multiple iPads

    Ability to remove app deployed on multiple iPads. We have 15 iPads in the SimpleMDM platform in groups of 9 & 6, and 99% of the time we will push an app e.g. YouTube to either one of the groups or all 15 iPads. It would be easier if this were detected on all (& could be removed in a 'single click').

    From the “Installs” tab in the App Details screen, you may select multiple devices to uninstall the app from.

  19. Admin Hierarchy

    There should be a hierarchy of admin privileges.

    I would suggest adding "Owner" and "Admin" as the account owner should not be able to have an admin revoke their access. There should also be the option to transfer the ownership of the account much like you can with Slack teams.

    The "Allow Safari auto fill" is available in the Restrictions profile in SimpleMDM.
