Open Enrollment Option
Ability to simply browse to a unique account link to enroll a new device. Protect the download with a company pass code. I've used other MDM's and they offer this as an option.

2-The ability to organize groups.

update iOS (for DEP devices that support it) via the API
Just looking at the API now, and it would be amazing if the ability to update iOS could be added to the API. I can envisage all kinds of scripted updates out of hours to make life easier for remote admins - for example scripting moving out of single app mode, updating the OS and moving back into Single App mode

Allow a view device URL based on serial or device ID
Watchman Monitoring is looking to build an integration for Macs which are enrolled in SimpleMDM.
One thing we'd like to do is present a URL which lands at specific device. Currently this can be done with an internal SimpleMDM ID such as:
https://a.simplemdm.com/admin/devices/123456
If URLs such as these existed, we could do that without the need for any API/account access
https://a.simplemdm.com/admin/devices/UNIQUEIDENTIFIER
or
https://a.simplemdm.com/admin/devices/SERIALNUMBER4 votesThe following query is now available: https://a.simplemdm.com/admin/devices/?serial_number=[SERIALNUMBER]

update software on an individual device via the API
As discussed in Slack - there's currently an "update_apps" command in the API - but that only applies to device groups. I'd like to be able to update software on an individual device via the API.
i.e. to push a test device to the latest and greatest, but leaving other devices on the standard version...
There's a button to do this in the GUI, so I'm hoping adding that to the API shouldn't be too bad?

Integration with Google LDAP for user enrolment
Google now has LDAP service but this requires the LDAP client be able to use a certificate to connect to the server. this would need to be added to simple MDM capabilities.
4 votesSAML-based authentication during the enrollment process is now supported by SimpleMDM. We support authenticating against Google with SAML over LDAP to achieve the same results.

Show app version on app assignment page
We sometimes upload different versions of the same app for assignment to different devices. On the app assignment page, it is difficult to see what version I'm assigning without actually clicking on the app link and seeing the version on the app page.
Please show the app's version directly on the assignment page.

Add a webhook for a device lock.enabled event
At the moment there's no obvious feedback that a lock command has been received and processed. It would awesome if there was a webhook triggered when a device responds to a lock command...

Profile PayloadIdentifier discoverable
This request is to make discovering the SimpleMDM Profile PayloadIdentifier discoverable via API, web UI, or ideally, both.
With Big Sur requiring silent Profile installs to come from MDM, I, and many others, will need to look at getting local
profiles
installed Profiles installed via MDM instead. Seeing as the Profiles installed may have critical settings or payloads, there will need to be care taken to identify which manual installed Profile coincides with an MDM installed Profile. One way to do that is to make note of what the PayloadIdentifier is for the MDM delivered Profile and act accordingly on…4 votesThe “profile_identifier” key has been added to the custom configuration profiles endpoint.

Bugfix... SimpleMDM cannot "see" multiple macOS apps with the same identifier
We're using SimpleMDM to help with software compliance. We've discovered that if two apps share the same app identifier (so org.mozilla.firefox for example) - SimpleMDM's software view will only list the first one discovered.
This is particularly painful for apps like Pycharm - where "Pycharm" and "Pycharm Community Edition" share the same app identifier - so it's impossible to tell which version someone is using... or perhaps they have both versions installed.
Can you add the ability to capture duplicate installs (which their own app identifier) please?
This issue is making our software compliance team very sad indeed.

Shared Apps addition
Hey!
Would it be possible to add FortiClient (https://www.fortinet.com/support/product-downloads#vpn7) and Omnidisksweeper (https://www.omnigroup.com/more) to the library of Shared Apps?Thanks!
4 votesOmniDiskSweeper has been added to the catalog. Unfortunately, FortiClient is now distributed as a web-based installation package and therefore cannot be installed via SimpleMDM nor Munki.

Devices API should indicate if phone is in lost mode
The following API
GET https://a.simplemdm.com/api/v1/devices
Lists detailed information about the device status underattributes
.We would like to see an additional attribute for when the device was placed in lost mode and if the device is currently in lost mode.
For example:
{
"is_in_lost_mode": true,
"lost_mode_active_at": "2021-07-13T16:00:54.000-07:00",
}
Since we have a large fleet of devices, we periodically place some of that fleet into lost mode if they go missing, using your existing API.
We would like to build out reporting which would require having lost mode information available in the API.
4 votesThe "lost_mode_enabled" key has been added to the Devices API.
The Logs API can be used to get "lost_mode.enabled" logs to see when the device issued a response indicating that it received the "Enable Lost Mode" command successfully.

Add a column to the device export list for "Filevault key escrowed"
When reviewing devices, it would be helpful to see which devices have FileVault enabled but if the key is not escrowed to the MDM.

Support a device's local time for Software Update Policy for iOS profiles
Currently the start hour and end hour for the profile is based on the account's time zone in the settings. Since we operate devices around the globe, we'd like to easily set one time frame for all devices across our sites. E.g. 7pm to 7am and a checkbox enabled for "Use device's local time".
4 votesThis option is now supported within the Software Update Policy for iOS profile.

Expose assignment count for custom profiles via API
The internal API for profile search
https://a.simplemdm.com/admin/profiles.json
returns the number of groups and devices assigned to a profile as groupCount and deviceCount.Exposing this information to the customconfigurationprofiles "list all" endpoint would make it possible to add a scheduled job to cleanup profiles with 0 installs, so the UI doesn't get clogged up with outdated profiles.

Implement Apple Kerberos SSO Extension as a profile
This is a great tool to sync AD password to the local one. It is somewhat easy to get this done as a custom plist profile. I used the settings from Kandji MDM as reference, a guide from JAMF on how to deploy the Kerberos Extension and Imazing.com profile manager to create the plist file. Imported the custom profile in SimpleMDM, applied to Pilot group and it worked just like intended. This was easy, but it should be made standard.
A sample plist file is available from https://github.com/ProfileCreator/ProfileManifests/issues/556
4 votesThis profile has been added under Configs > Profiles.
