  1. Sub domain homepage for enrollment with passcode

    Allow users to visit https://company.simplemdm.com enter a passcode then fill in Full Name to create the certificate to download. Then on the list of devices, the User and serial is recorded for search.

    While there isn't a customizable sub-domain, this outcome can be achieved using the Welcome Screen feature with a form and custom attributes. Closing this as completed but if there are additional requirements this option does not fulfill, please do not hesitate to open a new suggestion.

  2. Force iOS Update

    Give the ability to Force a Device to Update to the latest version of iOS. Without a request sent to the Device. I need the ability to just force the update without asking for an approval from the Device holder. My Customers are not very smart.

    Please find a new “iOS Update Policy” option in Configs > Profiles.

  3. Printable Receipts

    A printable version of the billing history would be perfect. For now one needs to make screenshots of the billing history for accounting purposes.

  4. Device page "Show" settings preserved on my session

    Upon choosing to show more devices on the devices page e.g. 20/40/1000, when I reload the page I want these settings to be preserved on my session, so I don't have to click 20 / 40 / 1000 - ALL

  5. Allow updating of a custom profile

    Many times building a custom profile is iterative and sometimes needs to be changed.

    It would be great to be able to upload a new .mobileconfig that overwrites the existing profile and deploys the new profile to all devices immediately without having to un-assign and re-assing to groups.

  6. Provide a preview of custom config profiles

    It would be very helpful to be able to see the XML of the custom profiles that have been uploaded in the event that the profile naming itself is bad.

    That way I can know if the target profile is doing what I am expecting it to do or not.

  7. Show resolved Custom Attribute values if not currently overridden

    It would be great to be able to see the value a given device or group is inheriting from the default / group-defined value.

    For instance, if I have a globally defined passcode length of 4, and a group level passcode length of 6, then when I am viewing the attributes of a device in the aforementioned group, then I see "6" as the "prompt text" for the text field.

    This will allow me to know if I should define an override for this device/group or if the inherited value is what I want already without having to navigate away…

    Enrollment links can be configured to require LDAP or SAML authentication. Additionally, Enrollment links can be deleted to prevent future enrollments.

  9. allow in-app purchases to be disable via Device Restrictions

    Currently, in-app purchases can be disabled via the on-device Restrictions page. However, I do not see this as an option when configuring my Group Restrictions. Can this item be added to the available Restrictions?

  10. Automatically Sync with Apple DEP

    Please add an option to allow "Sync with Apple" to happen without admin interaction. Ideally this would sync daily with Apple's deploy.apple.com service. In our environment we purchase from an authorized reseller so they automatically assign the serial numbers to our account and we would ideally like this to sync with SimpleMDM without admin interaction.

    DEP accounts are now automatically synced every three hours.

  11. Event to hook into when a new device enrolls (e.g: webhook)

    Would be nice if it's possible to hook into some event when a device
    gets enrolled. Since I'm not able to influence the polling I would like to
    know when a new device is actually enrolled so I have an up to date start.

    please make this ,
    when device is manualy unenrollen then send it to specific email adress instead of sending to administartor email address, this email address can be set on device create api request(https://a.simplemdm.com/api/v1/devices) so that every device has a possiblity to have differnet address

  13. Multiple DEP

    Multiple DEP account / configurations.

    I have two classes of devices that we need to manage. One set is very locked down and supervised. The other we don't want to be supervised and just want some basic management. It's a bit painful right now to work around this and we'd love to be able to register sets of devices with different DEP accounts directly on Apple's site.

  14. Allow enforcing of Filevault with institutional recovery key.

    In Merakis MDM solution it is possible to enforce Filevault across your fleet using an institutional recovery key. Would really really like to see this feature come to SimpleMDM.

    SimpleMDM includes personal key support with escrow. We believe this is a more secure, superior strategy to using a global institutional recovery key.

  15. Group or global level default custom attribute

    When using custom attributes for profiles, I would like the ability to have a globally defined default value for a custom attribute. This would be overridden by a group-level custom attribute (if specified), otherwise it would inherit from the global value. Finally, if the value could be overridden at the device level should that level of granularity be required.

    So the order of precedence (from lowest to highest) would be:
    • Global
    • Group
    • Device

    A use case of this is for password policies. I can create a custom password policy with a custom attribute like {{requiredlength}} to…

    Restart and Shutdown API commands can be used to create a custom script run on a schedule.

  17. More Usefull Features for MAC OS.

    There needs to be a full set of features for MAC OS. 1) pushing updates 2) Allowing to track via the Map

    And more!! Pushing apps like final cut is a plus. But we should be able to do more with the MAC OS.

  18. Auto Lock Device

    The ability to set the Auto Screen Lock timer at a group level.
    We already have the ability to display a message on the lock screen at a group level. Just need the ability to set the time for the Auto Lock.

    This feature is already available under Group Settings > Passcode.

  19. Asset Management

    In Jamf there is a field you can enter on a device labeled "Asset Tag". It was a nice way to keep track of Asset Tag numbers without having to put it into the Device Name.

    Have you considered using a custom attribute? You can add “asset_tag” by visiting Configs > Attributes. This will then add an asset_tag field to each device under device details.
