  1. Extend profiles API to include listing/managing all profiles

    Currently the only profiles that can be managed via the API are custom configuration profiles.

    Please extend management of the profiles to include all the profiles that can be created within the SimpleMDM web console so that these profiles can also be managed with the API.

    Given there is no ability to assign devices to multiple device groups, using the API to ensure all device groups get the profiles required is the only means of ensuring consistent application of profiles to device groups.

  2. Implement AllowNonAdminUserApprovals for macOS Kernel Extension policies

    Starting in Big Sur, Apple requires a local user to explicitly allow kernel extensions to be installed, even if they are whitelisted by MDM policy. By default only admin-level accounts are permitted to do so, but this is not practical in environments that don't allow end-users to be admins. Any such kernel extensions, and the software that depends on them, are basically unusable after upgrading to Big Sur.

    Please implement the new 'AllowNonAdminUserApprovals' option in macOS Kernel Extension profiles. This will allow our non-admin users to "approve" the required kexts and their software to function again. The public documentation hasn't…

  5. UI for profiles assigned to device

    As we get option to assign profile to specific device (https://suggestions.simplemdm.com/forums/204404/suggestions/31773355) via API it will be brilliant to also have web UI to work with this.

    Web UI should look similar to "Apps" page under device called "Profiles".

    -List all profiles on device via https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/list_the_installed_profiles (this will list also profiles installed by user)
    -Display if profile is managed or not
    -Ability to display .mobileconfig/profile for user installed profiles (it is returned in ProfileListCommand command)
    -Ability to re-push/reinstall profile(s) (API call to do this will be brilliant)
    -Ability to add profile from configured profiles

  6. Implementation of System Extensions payload in Configs > Profiles > Add Profile

    There is a new profile payload for macOS 10.15.4+ operating systems that facilitates whitelisting system extensions. This payload is in addition to the existing kernel extensions payload: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/systemextensions

    Currently the only option in the SimpleMDM Configs > Profiles > Add Profile is for Kernel Extensions.

    It would be very helpful to have the System Extensions payload added as an option when adding a new profile.

  7. Not load agent in menu bar on macOS

    The cloud agent icon in the menu bar is great for people that need it but it would be great if we had the ability to have that not load in the menu bar as we already have other things such as Nomad or SSO extensions payload that can be configured to have an option to open the Managed Software Centre.

  8. Munki Shared App requests

    Where can I request you add a Shared App for your Munki directory?

    I would like to request Airfoil be added or have another approach suggested if that is not possible. (https://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac/).

  10. Do not apply kernel extension profiles to ARM devices

    It's a known issue that applying a kernel extension profile to an M1 device can put it into a failure to boot condition, displaying a "Recovery is trying to change system settings. No administrator was found." dialog.
    Would be great if SimpleMDM could prevent us from ending up in that situation.

  13. Present passwords in a font that disambiguates similar characters

    Just had a frightening incident in which I thought we had been locked out of a managed device. Turns out the problem was just that the firmware password was hard to read: I was mistaking a 1 for an l.

    I suggest you choose a different font for passwords/recovery codes/etc., which makes very clear whether a given character is a 1 or l; likewise for 0 and O, which I also mistake on a regular basis.

    The font change was applied a while back but I didn't realize there were duplicate requests. Closing this one as well. If there is a new change you'd like to see related to this, please feel free to submit new a request.

  14. Add company name to receipt for accounting purposes

    You currently have the field “Company Name” populated in the settings but do not included it on the payment receipt. For accounting purposes in the U.K. the company name need to be present on the invoice/receipt

    To add your company name to receipts, simply include the company name in the “Billing Address” text box under Account > Settings. This will update all existing receipts as well.

  15. iOS version on dashboard

    I would like to see the iOS version on the main dashboard when you are looking at all the devices in your specific groups.

    So, today we have Name, Group, Model, Status, Last Seen. ADD: iOS Version!

  19. Make the Security/OS Update settings queryable via the API

    SimpleMDM now has some super useful data about device security posture available in the webUI only :(

    Things like
    "Firewall Status"
    "System Integrity Protection Enabled" and
    "Automatic OS Installation Enabled"

    Would be fantastic things to query via the API, for compliance reports etc etc.

    If I had to prioritise, I'd want Firewall status first (because my stakeholders want it!) but more of the "Security" and "OS Update Settings" data would be amazing and much appreciated :)
