  1. Allow before/after (un)installation script overrides for shared apps

    This would enable one to benefit from shared auto-updating apps while applying useful improvements such as /Applications/Docker.app/Contents/MacOS/Docker --unattended --install-privileged-components.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Will. We’re not planning to add geo-based rules at this point but I’ll leave this suggestion up to see if it rallies more support.

  7. No app deletion upon unenrollment

    Make it so that when the mdm profile is removed or unenrolled by an administrator, then the apps will not be deleted and remain on the device. VPP apps would be removed and the licenses taken back.

  8. Slack integration

    I would really like Slack intergration
    I.e a notification when there is a change like a new machine enrolls or something more advanced like a notification when a new machine enroll have an interative button (https://api.slack.com/docs/message-buttons), to confirm that the machine is allowed to enroll and move it to the right group.

    I would like to request SMTP support, with authentication. It would be nice to get emailed when critical events happen within SimpleMDM’s management interface. Examples, when a certificate is about to expire, or when a device is quarantined.

  10. Sub domain homepage for enrollment with passcode

    Allow users to visit https://company.simplemdm.com enter a passcode then fill in Full Name to create the certificate to download. Then on the list of devices, the User and serial is recorded for search.

  12. Report on UAMDM status

    We can already see UAMDM status (https://suggestions.simplemdm.com/forums/204404-suggestions/suggestions/33088666-uamdm-status) - but as we roll out to more machines it would be useful to have a report or column view or other way to work out which machines are enrolled but have not been approved by the user.

    I appreciate we could write a lookup against the API to query this status - but that doesn't really scale when we hit 1000s of machines

  13. Privacy option for iOS devices

    In Europe its critical to record information about employees. It would be great if we could setup a MDM group were we can add our employees iOS devices and in this group we don't see the device location (already possible) and also disable the "Apps" tab, which can contain very personal information about installed apps.

  14. Preserve selected tabs and page state on reload

    There are many pages in SimpleMDM that have multiple tabs such as App detail, Device detail, etc.

    I frequently reload these pages to see updated inventory for apps installed, or updated device information. When I reload the page, it always goes back to the first tab and resets everything, so I have to click back to where I was.

    Could at least the selected tab and maybe even page state be preserved on reload?

  16. Create MDM account before deploying InstallApplications payload

    When a machine enrolls into MDM via ABM/ASM the current cadence is to install packages before creating the configured account.

    This request is to make the account creation happen first so packages that install can use the account that is created by the MDM.

    One instance is the ability to install the bootstrap token escrow with the local admin account.

  17. Make Lock PIN #s / Filevault Recovery Keys Available Via the API

  19. Should support ALL features from Apple Profile Manager

    SimpleMDM should support ALL features and settings from Apple Profile Manager.

    If it did, it would be possible to move from something Apple only delivers as a kind of "proof of concept" to a system that seems to more pointed towards the future. At the moment SimpleMDM lacks too many profile settings.
