This is not something that Apple currently supports via the MDM spec. We will continue monitor Apple updates for options related to this functionality.

  3. make profile removal password protected without enrolling with DEP.

make profile removal password protected without enrolling with DEP.
Add the ability to never allow the user to remove the profile from their device.
now the option is only available if you enroll in Apples DEP.
would prefer having the option without enrollment.

Apple does not allow password-protected MDM profiles. DEP enrollment is the only current method of setting an MDM profile as unremovable.

  4. Bypass certificate expiry on Enterprise ios App

Before using simple MDM we use to install and update manually an Enterprise iOS App on some iPads and we no longer matter about the Enterprise Certificate signing expiry.

Since we use SimpleMDM, we push over the air the app to these iPads. We download the app file .ipa on a computer and add it on the portal.

We have a concern when the enterprise certificate expiry is reached because we have to upload a new version and we can not by pass the expiry. It would be nice to have a feature to bypass this limit and keep the…

SimpleMDM is not able to circumvent the iOS app licensing policies created by Apple. It is best to keep an active Enterprise Developer account with Apple and resign enterprise apps every three years, using SimpleMDM to distribute the updates.

SimpleMDM currently supports a few different options between iOS (ex. Lost Mode) and macOS (ex. Lock command). I am closing this request since these options already exist, but if there are additional features you would like to see added, please submit a new suggestion with a detailed description of what you are looking for.

  7. more visuals and more data control

ability to see what on the phone is using data and how much. Also the ability to see what the browsing history is on the phones. Ability to look at phone as if you had the phone in your hand and be able to change things thru this program and then see it change visually. Make the iPhone more visual thru mdm.

  8. Put the main device screen back to how it was.

They were grouped so nicely. I could see all my devices on one page, neatly organized by expandable groups. Why default to 20 devices? Why take away the expandable groupings?

  9. Force install app update

Sometimes the device will popup a confirmation before installing an app. Maybe it should be better to install without a confirmation.

Hi Rick- This is behavior determined by iOS, not SimpleMDM. To force a “silent” app install without prompting the user, make sure that you have VPP licenses available (if an App Store App), the device is Supervised, and the app is not currently open by the user.

  10. Push Custom Bookmarks and website tiles to the home screen

I would like to add custom URL's as tiles on a given page on the home screen and add bookmarks too in the safari app for my managed iPads.

This is available already using the Web Clip profile. Per Apple's design, bookmarks can be added only to Safari via MDM when using a Web Content Filter profile.

  14. Cloud Sandbox for iOS Apps

Online sandbox for iOS apps. I want a portal where I can log in and see all app interactions on a designated Apple device. Did someone send my son a friend request via Facebook? Or send him a SMS? Or what sites did he visit? I want to monitor everything about that device. I want alerts for certain pre-defined actions on his part.

  15. Possible to control supervised device brightness settings via SimpleMDM?

    Hey there,

If possible, I would love to be able to remotely configure/control a supervised iOS device's brightness settings via SimpleMDM.

I am already aware of the setting to disable auto-lock for supervised devices, but right now the screen is still dimming.

Is it possible to control the device's brightness slide remotely?

Our use case is a deployment of kiosk-mode devices that are locked down to using the Safari app to display content.

We have received complaints that the device screens are too dim.

Would prefer not to have to manually adjust the settings on each in-person.

    Thanks!

Apple does not currently support this. Some kiosk software does, however, so we suggest checking with your kiosk software manufacturer.

  16. Limit or remove access to Airplane mode

Tracking can be removed if the device is allowed to go into Airplane mode. For users that will never use the device on the airplane or travel there should be a way to limit the Airplane mode capability. This would be nice so that the device can be tracked all of the time.
