  1. Add the Configuration profile - Network usage rules

I'd like to be able to natively use the Network usage rules configuration profile, rather than creating a custom configuration profile.

This will give me the ability to control what network type an app can use.

I'm happy for users to install Social Media apps on their company phones. But not use cellular data, only Wi-Fi.

  2. Allow device specific packages [on the device page]

Either mdm installed packages, or munki catalogs named by the serial number of the device.

I could currently create assignment groups for each serialnumber but that is tedius. Even if automated, It would still clutter up the assignment groups screen. I'd want to see the device specific catalogs/assignment groups on the device page.

The use case here is the nebula "vpn" client which needs a per host certificate. I was thinking of delivering these host specific certs by .pkg

  3. Extend the included Device fields via the CVS download option

Appears to be missing a few key fields:
    - passcode policy enabled (This is not the same as "firmware password" and btw, a similar field is downloaded but we think it's tied to iOS devices as opposed to Mac OS)
    - Firewall enabled
    - Mac OS Patch Management enabled
    - Anti-virus / Malware enabled

You may recognize these as SOC2 requirements. Would be ideal to run a report / download for all devices with this data included. Thanks!

  9. Install macOS VPP apps using this MDM channel for user AND device

I deploy User Enrolment and Automated Enrolment devices using the VPP apps function.

Currently I need the "Install macOS VPP apps using this MDM channel" to be device level install for Automated Enrolment devices.

However this breaks the User Enrolment devices to deploy VPP apps.

Can you add an option to allow VPP app deployment by deployment type (i.e. User for User Enrolment, Device for Automated Enrolment)?

    Thanks, James

  10. Add an "Assigned Via" column to the "Installs" tab for apps

Add an "Assigned Via" column to the "Installs" tab for apps, preferably a sortable one, that shows either "Device" or the name of the Device Group which the device belongs to that is assigned an app. The column would be similar to the "Assigned Via" column on the profiles tab of a device. This would make it so that if you need to uninstall an app from a specific Device Group of devices, but not all of your devices, you can quickly see which devices are assigned an app because of a specific Device Group membership and you could select…

  13. Add a column for notes/location on the Devices screen

On the main Devices screen, add a column for a notes field to detail location (probably a separate one from what's in the Device details/Settings tab so that can be used for more detailed info), so I could add info like "2nd floor", "Pam's office", etc and have it sortable & searchable

  14. Add Last Reboot detail to Devices

I'd like to be able to see when a device was last rebooted. If not in a column on the main Devices page, at least in the info tab of Device Details.

  18. pause kiosk mode

Pause Kiosk mode when needed for quick fixes then "resume kiosk mode" option to turn back on once problem solved that required Kiosk mode to be disabled. Timed resumption if no inputs made would be great, Example from ManageEngine MDM attached, very useful.

  19. Display the Raw Payload Key when hovering over Human Readable descriptions

Apple's documentation for payload keys (e.g. Restrictions - https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/restrictions) and the translated human readable description in the SimpleMDM Profile creation UI can cause confusion because what is described may not be obvious what key is actually being set.

I suggest when hovering over the Simple UI description in the SimpleMDM portal the actual, raw payload Key be displayed so there is no confusion as to what preference that is setting.

For instance, if I hover over "Allow restricting USB connections if locked" in the Restrictions Profile, it should show "allowUSBRestrictedMode".

  20. allow download of native SimpleMDM Profiles

Custom Configuration profiles are able to be downloaded from the portal but not profiles that were created in the SimpleMDM portal UI.

As an admin it would be great to be able to download the raw profile from the server for a number of reasons:
    1) Documentation
    2) Version control
    3) Sanity of knowing what is being delivered to systems
    4) Save time to not have to find a machine with the profile scoped and parse the output of profiles, which isn't the raw profile in it's full either.

    Thanks,
    Eric
