  2. Allow Configurable Log Retention

    I would like to be able to customize the log retention filter and length. Not all device logs are needed for longer than 30 days, however important access logs and commands such as locking devices should be able to be kept for much longer.
    Alternatively or in addition, having a built in log pipeline to a SIEM would be great. Pulling logs out of the API is a bit of a hassle.

  3. Disable big popup window from Managed Software Centre

    Hi!
    We use SimpleMDM on our rental/production macs, not as office computers. And I have gotten feedback that sometimes the "Managed Software Centre" pop up on the middle of the screen, when an update has been waiting for a few days.

    We want a way to turn this off, since we dont want a suddenly popup on the screen in middle of an event/production/show. And sometimes we have an event for a week or so, and dont want to update a program during that week. Would be nice if it was possible to turn of the popup either on each…

  4. Allow a scheduled rotation of auto-admin passwords

    I'd like to see the ability for SimpleMDM to auto-rotate admin passwords on a specified schedule. Right now that task is only completed by the UI or an API script. The UI clicking is impossible with 1000s of machines and scripting it with an API call takes hours to run. Having an automated schedule inside the UI to auto-rotate every month or so would remove the chore of password rotation.

  6. Use a SAN instead of CN when managing certificate renewal

    Currently if an admin wants SimpleMDM to manage the renewal of their SCEP certificates, SimpleMDM bulldozes the CN and replaces it entirely. This is problematic for workflows that require specific values to be in a CN and not a SAN. If possible, please use a SAN to insert any necessary tracking values. Intune is doing this with success (see the blue box at the top of https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/protect/certificates-profile-scep).

  7. Support for defined build numbers in DDM software update

    It's fantastic that we can get started with DDM software updates... however, I think the protocol does allow for us to push a specific build number.

    This is handy for testing - as I've got a device enrolled in the beta that I'd love to push specific build numbers too, to try out the functionality - without having to reach for DFU mode on a long suffering test system.

    Going forward, it would be fantastic to nudge/enforce specific build numbers for beta testers, so we can ensure testers are all on latest betas where appropriate.

  8. Return the effective value of custom attributes in the API and exports

    Currently, exports and the API will only return a custom attribute's value if the value is overridden at the device level - otherwise, it returns an empty string. Please modify the API and exports endpoint to return the effective value of the field. It would also be helpful if there was a taxonomy that outlined where that value came from (e.g. is it the default, group level, or device level override).

  9. Add more metadata to app data returned by API

    I would like to be able to check the hash of the binary that an app. Actually a good way to expose this and other things could be to provide a GET https://a.simplemdm.com/api/v1/apps/{APP_ID}/munki_pkginfo API?

  10. Allow On-Prem Caching for Munki packages to increase max package size

    I know that the current size limitations for Munki are where they are to keep from overloading SimpleMDM's servers, but would it be possible to allow for an On-Prem/Hybrid Cloud integration with SimpleMDM to cache larger Munki installations?

    Even something like being able to use a shared folder on a local server, or an application we can install on a server to designate it as a caching server.

  12. Use Sofa feed to add macos latest next to macOS current of device

    Optionally add columns to the device dashboard to show latest macOS available for a device (both latest minor for current macOS install and latest major supported). I currently do this via api device check and add sofa feed info to a csv but it would be nice to have built in.   13. When adding and removing profiles from a group in one save action, do the removes first

    When testing "what if I swap out the profile that defines only Enterprise SSO for one with Enterprise and Platform SSO defined", one ends up with this error:
    ""LocalizedDescription": "The URL “https://login.microsoftonline.com/” appears in more than one Single Sign On Extension payload.""
    Yep, true fact: if you try to install my new profile that expands the SSO configuration into PSSO before pulling out the existing profile, that URL will be in 2 profiles at once.

    Therefore, could it be possible that if an update to a Group contains both adds and removes, the removes could be processed first, then…

  14. map view pin annotations

    in map view I see pins for all my ipads, and clicking the pin takes me to that ipads config page. However in mapview I cant see who is who without poping up a new window. It would be nice if the pins all had annotations so I could see who was where without opening a new window.

  15. Make the delete all / wipe configuration optional

    As we are simply using simplemdm to manage apps for contractors / on personal computers it is overkill to have the permission to wipe a computer from the portal.

    If possible it would be nice to make the wipe setting optional when enrolling a device.

  16. Support for Checkpoint Capsule VPN

    Brsides the Ciscos, F5 and Sonicwall you should add support for the Checkpoint Firewalls and their VPN (via Capsule app?).
    Connecting over L2TP is not as practical.

  20. Lost Mode pending status

    We've set Lost Mode for a device. The banner that indicates this doesn't persist. We'd like to see the pending request for Lost Mode persist in the dashboard/status view for the device.
