Support iOS 9's Per Device Licensing
In iOS 9, apps distributed through an MDM which supports it can now be associated directly with a device rather than an Apple ID.
This would significantly simply many large-scale deployments of purposed devices by removing the need for an admin to set up an Apple ID for each device.

add an "auto-join" feature to wifi profiles
I've noticed that configurator (and other MDMs) have an "auto-join" option that can be set when you create a wifi profile. I think this might help solve an issue we're having where we can't force devices onto a specific network. I'm hoping that judicious use of "auto-join" will allow us to select the correct network for a device via SimpleMDM

Allow for WebClips to be supported in the Layout Module so they can be placed
Can you add support for WebClips to be arranged on the Screen Layout pages as well. Everytime I make a change, the system automatically moves the WebClip icons to Page 2.
12 votesThis is now available for devices running the iOS 11.3 beta and later.

Add email account from configuration profile
In our old (crappy) MDM solution the only thing that wasn't crappy was the ability to configure email accounts on a per device basis via pre-defined email configuration profiles. At the very moment in Simple MDM we have to fill out a couple of fields on the device->accounts->email page manually.
Being able to chose from a list of pre-configured email account configuration profiles would be much smoother for us.
Thanks for considering and hopefully implementing that feature!
12 votesEmail accounts can now be assigned at the device group level. If the username and password field values are unique for each device, they can be left blank so that the user is prompted for the values. If you would like to add them as an administrator, custom attributes can be used to create username and password values on a per-device basis.

Lookup exact model
Based on https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201300 you could show the exact model names.
This would be useful to see the age of our Macs and distinguish between 13 and 15 inch models.
Today this information is only available in the export.

UI for profiles assigned to device
As we get option to assign profile to specific device (https://suggestions.simplemdm.com/forums/204404/suggestions/31773355) via API it will be brilliant to also have web UI to work with this.
Web UI should look similar to "Apps" page under device called "Profiles".
-List all profiles on device via https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/list_the_installed_profiles (this will list also profiles installed by user)
-Display if profile is managed or not
-Ability to display .mobileconfig/profile for user installed profiles (it is returned in ProfileListCommand command)
-Ability to re-push/reinstall profile(s) (API call to do this will be brilliant)
-Ability to add profile from configured profilesThanks David
12 votesThis is now available under the Profiles tab of the Device Details page. A list of assigned profiles for a device can be retrieved via API as well: https://simplemdm.com/docs/api/#list-profiles

Allow bulk import of GUID and passwords for DEP-created accounts
Allow for the bulk import of information on DEP auto-created admin accounts. An API or UI that allows for the entry of serial number, GUID, and password for accounts created before the release of the Auto Admin feature. This would permit us to get rotation of the password without having to redeploy.
12 votesI'm marking this one as closed/completed because, since the initial release of this feature, we added the ability to reset admin passwords for an auto-admin account regardless of whether or not the password was already stored. I believe the current functionality achieves the original intent of this suggestion. If there is additional functionality you'd like to see added related to this, please submit a new suggestion.

Automatic device naming
To make automatic enrollment suitable for many devices, we would like to be able to configure a device name "template". New devices should automatically be assigned a name according to this template when they are enrolled.
Name templates should support certain dynamic fields:
- Sequential ID: Auto-incrementing counter used for new devices
- Device-type: iPhone/iPad depending on the type of device
This functionality is already available in Apple Configurator 2, so it would be natural to have this available in SimpleMDM as well.
11 votesA device name template can now be set under Settings > General. Names will auto-increment as needed.

Notification for devices that have not reported location recently
Sometimes our devices don't report location for extended periods of time, often because the user disabled location tracking for the SimpleMDM app. Typically we learn of this only when we go into device details for an individual device and notice that the map says "updated about 2 months ago," or something similar. It would be nice if there was (a) an email notification to administrators if a device has been turned on and checking in with MDM, but hasn't reported its location in x days, and/or (b) a way to report all devices that, again, are on and talking to…

UAMDM status
Since user accepted things are pretty important with kernel extensions and with 10.13.4b1 Apple is adding more profiles that require UAMDM. It would be extremely helpful if we could get this status on the machine details page right under the FileVault status. The UAMDM info is also coming back from the machine in that same SecurityInfo request so it should be pretty easy to pull apart.
PS AirWatch just added this with v9.2.3 :)
11 votesUAMDM status and DEP are now shown under “Enrollment” in the device details screen. UAMDM is also found under the “is_user_approved_enrollment” key in the API.

Stop WIFI Sharing
As of iOS 11 you can now share your network settings. This poses a problem for devices that aren't company owned. Users can now share the password with other Apple devices that are close by. We would like to prevent MDM devices from sharing passwords with any other device.
11 votesSee "Allow password sharing" option in the Restrictions profile.

Not load agent in menu bar on macOS
The cloud agent icon in the menu bar is great for people that need it but it would be great if we had the ability to have that not load in the menu bar as we already have other things such as Nomad or SSO extensions payload that can be configured to have an option to open the Managed Software Centre.

add ability to upload custom icons
When creating custom apps, it would be nice if we could upload a custom icon with it.
11 votesCustom icons can now be uploaded for custom apps & nopkgs that are deployed using SimpleMDM's hosted Munki integration. When enabled, the Managed Software Center will display the provided custom icon.
Please note: Once the app is installed, the application will still use whichever icon was specified in the pkg/dmg. Additionally, custom pkgs that are only eligible for deployment via the MDM protocol do not currently support custom icons. This would require the pkg itself to be modified.

Implement "SetAutoAdminPassword" to allow DEP created admin account password rotation
SetAutoAdminPassword allows changing the password of a local admin account that was created by Setup
Assistant during DEP enrollment via the AccountConfiguration command. It is available in macOS v10.11 and
later. This would be useful to allow admin password rotation. Ideally this would also available via the API.11 votesThis is now supported (with some limitations). Documentation is available here: https://help.pdq.com/hc/en-us/articles/5626064805659-macOS-Account-Setup-and-Admin-Passwords

Add International Support for DeviceLink App
The DeviceLink App that enables GPS tracking and push messaging currently only works with devices that are registered to a US iTunes account. This request is to add support for other countries.
If you vote for this idea, please include the country (or countries) that you'd like to see support for, personally. Thanks!
10 votesThe DeviceLink App is now available in the public Apple App Store and is available for all countries.

"Google Account" Profile Support
We are a Google Apps shop and Apple has introduced a great profile called a "Google Account" profile. It specifically configures Email, Calendars, Contacts using Google's login and specific communication protocols (e.g. Web-based, not Exchange nor IMAP/POP).
It works for iOS and macOS, and works very nicely to activate new devices with their Google account.
The only requirement of the profile is the user's email address to be defined. I think this means the profile needs to be configured as a provider, exactly as you have done with Mail/VPN/etc. profiles.
Because of this I cannot use a Custom Configuration Profile,…
