  2. Allow quarantine of devices that have older version of an app installed

    We regularly deploy enterprise apps and would like to know right away if a particular device has not updated to the latest version for whatever reason.

    The Quarantine feature has been deprecated (though accounts that were using it still have access to it). If there is a new option that would help, please submit a new suggestion.

  3. Allow IPA Binaries to be uploaded via url/plist instead of requiring an upload of a raw binary.

    This will specifically be of help when interacting with SimpleMDM's API, allowing users to update/upload new apps without attaching large multipart forms.

  5. Creating Subgroups

    Within my school structure I have groups created by grade. I would like to be able to create subgroups for foreign language, honors vs standard, etc. so that i can push paid apps to only a small segment of a group, and to be able to put devices into multiple subgroups.

    This is not something that Apple currently supports via the MDM spec. We will continue monitor Apple updates for options related to this functionality.

  7. User based app distribution via VPP without device enrolment.

    Currently Simple MDM allows for user based app distribution when they have a device enrolled into the MDM, however, there are circumstances where an entity may not wish to manage an end users device, such as a BYOD program in a K-12 institute.

    In these circumstances, it would be great to have a mechanism by which one could import users and their email, or use an API call, to send out invites to participate in receiving Apple ID based managed distribution apps via VPP.

    Apple does not allow password-protected MDM profiles. DEP enrollment is the only current method of setting an MDM profile as unremovable.

  9. Add column for updates on Devices screen

    It would be good to see if a device has an update from the Devices Screen, rather than just when you go in to the device settings. This would be useful for non-DEP devices that are unable to have the auto update function enabled due to them not being enrolled in DEP.

    Would be goot to be able to push the update from that screen also.

    Closing due to inactivity (no votes/comments for 5+ years). The "update" option mentioned in original post won't be relevant in the future with the deprecation of legacy OS update commands. Surfacing DDM software update statuses in Devices list view might be a similar worthwhile request.

  12. Bypass certificate expiry on Enterprise ios App

    Before using simple MDM we use to install and update manually an Enterprise iOS App on some iPads and we no longer matter about the Enterprise Certificate signing expiry.

    Since we use SimpleMDM, we push over the air the app to these iPads. We download the app file .ipa on a computer and add it on the portal.

    We have a concern when the enterprise certificate expiry is reached because we have to upload a new version and we can not by pass the expiry. It would be nice to have a feature to bypass this limit and keep the…

    SimpleMDM is not able to circumvent the iOS app licensing policies created by Apple. It is best to keep an active Enterprise Developer account with Apple and resign enterprise apps every three years, using SimpleMDM to distribute the updates.

  13. Adjustable time for Two Factor Authencation

    Allow adjustable time for Two Factor Authentication - the default should require the pin to be required at each log in. The current setting is several days between prompts. Alternately this should at least be configurable to per logon, 1 hour, or 1 day etc as this is a security risk two factor authentication is support to mitigate.

  14. import a CSV containing device information for enrollment

    We would like to see the ability to upload a CSV exported from our previous mobile device manager to send mass text messages with a group enrollment link.
    Use Case: We currently have about 400 devices in the field that need to be remotely enrolled.
    This is low priority, we will use the QR code to enroll all of the devices just fine. This is just an improvement suggestion for the future.

  15. Retain Device Group Scope

    When working with a device group, if I take an action on a device or group of devices, the page reloads and resets my view back to "All Device Groups." It would be MUCH more useful if taking an action kept me at the current device group view instead of resetting to the default.

  16. Add YubiKey (U2F) support for two-factor logi

    I'd love to be able to add my two YubiKeys as alternate options for two-factor login to the admin console.
    Most web interfaces I work with I have two U2F keys enrolled and the usual TOTP token codes as a backup.

  19. Further Document or Create Tutorial for SimpleMDM App Deployment

    I've seen mentioned in Slack and seen in my own deployments that a fair amount of confusion comes from having SimpleMDM appear to be listed as an available app, even though a customer still needs to purchase it via VPP in order to deploy it. In my own first usage, I attempted to deploy with out purchasing, and when I figured out what was going on, I was able to correct the problem, but the installation took some time.     SimpleMDM currently supports a few different options between iOS (ex. Lost Mode) and macOS (ex. Lock command).
