Support self-enrollment using directory service credentials
Provide for directory service (AD et al) user authentication information to be used for self-enrollment of devices. The authenticated user information should also be written to the device record so we know that user is tied to the enrolled device.
9 votesPlease see our authentication options under enrollments. If you have a particular use case that is not supported by our current implementation, please create a new ticket with specific information so that we may keep track of the request.

Hide API key until a 'reveal' button is pressed on the Settings > API page
https://a.simplemdm.com/admin/api
As noted on the page itself, 'Note: Take care to protect your account key. It is just as powerful as your username and password.'
It would be nice if the key was hidden on view when you visit the page and instead there was a button near it that reveals the key temporarily. Would help prevent accidentally showing API key and looks better in demos.
Thanks in advance!

Allow import of custom profiles for a single device.
As it is now, you can upload a custom configuration profile to a group. It would be great to have a option to put some configuration profile on a single device, not having to create a group for this one device and then upload the custom profile.

Managed App Configurations by Device Group
It would be a great advantage to be able to apply a slightly different device configuration based on the Device Group. In the case of multiple iPad Kiosks that simply load a website, The Device Groups each require a unique home page set in KioskPro Plus.
Let me know if I'm missing some part of the interface that provides this.
Thanks.
9 votesThis can now be accomplished using custom attributes. Custom attributes can be assigned values at the device group level.

Allow self installation of apps using SimpleMDM App
We have numerous users in the field who should be able to re-install an approved app if necessary. Currently this requires calling us and bogs us down quite a bit.

Accept XML uploads in order to create custom App Configurations while pushing Apps.
In order to have specific fields included when an app is first pushed, XML files and custom configurations for apps would be much appreciated.

IKEv2 support has been added. OpenVPN is currently not supported by Apple’s MDM protocol, nor by Apple’s built-in VPN client.

Device Details Report
Provide for some reporting. It doesn't have to be much but the ability to print all device detail in a single report would do the trick.
7 votesClosing this request since this is available with the Export Devices CSV. If there is something additional you'd like to see implemented, please submit a new suggestion outlining the problem or functionality.

bulk push VPN account setting to a group device
add the option for bulk push VPN account setting, such as i have 10 vpn service, and now i have add 10 times for each device. i want to push some VPN service to a group device only 1 time.
8 votesVPN accounts can now be assigned at the device group level. If the username and password field values are unique for each device, they can be left blank so that the user is prompted for the values. If you would like to add them as an administrator, custom attributes can be used to create username and password values on a per-device basis.

OS X MDM Support
Our company is comprised entirely of iOS and OS X devices, and it would be great if we could use DeviceLink to support both platforms. Specifically we would need to set screensaver password settings, be able to lock and wipe devices, ensure encryption is enabled, and push some basic settings like WiFi passwords and mail accounts.

Alerts for MDM unenrollment
Customers need email alerts for the unenrollment of devices. Since Apple does not allow for the prevention of removal of MDM profiles, users can unenroll devices at will. The only way an administrator can know this without being logged into the portal one hundred percent of the time would be a proactive alerting infrastructure. Ideally, this would include multiple alert options including email, SMS and push notification to an admin device.

We now support push notifications to devices!
To support push messaging, sign in to DeviceLink and deploy the DeviceLink mobile app to your devices. You can also configure your groups to automatically deploy the app on device enrollment (on by default).

tvOS - Managed OS Updates
With tvOS 12 adding support for managed OS updates (https://simplemdm.com/2018/06/15/apple-mdm-features-ios-12-macos-10-14/), it would be great if the Install Update icon method could be implemented for tvOS devices (like it currently is for iOS devices in the Device Details page)

allow for disabling notifications in iOS and controlling privacy System Services in MDM
I know Apple has some limitations on this but it would be good to be able to disable notifications on the screen from SimpleMDM. Also the ability to control the Privacy > System Services screen options thru a boolean on and off config like those available in a custom app configuration. Since this is an iOS control I am not sure if there is a string that can be added to allow for this under privacy controls or not. Thanks for your consideration.

Allow filtering based on MAC address in the Devices API
Currently only name, UDID, serial number and phone number are supported for filtering in the Devices API. In the context of a network, the MAC address is the only identifier available and is required for filtering.

Search devices by MAC Address
Currently the only way to search for a device in your MDM is by device name, serial or phone number. Adding the ability to search by MAC Address of the device helps advanced organizations search more thoroughly if a search inquiry doesn't contain the MDM's current search parameters.

Manually assign AirPrint Profiles without using groups
The only way to deploy AirPrint Profiles is via group memberships but in order to limit each iPad to only see the printer it should print to I would have to create a group for every single printer. This would mean several dozen groups at least.
It would be great if we can just go into a device's information and select which AirPrint profiles it should receive.
1 voteSimpleMDM added the ability to assign all profiles at the device level a while back - this is now supported.
