Allow to apply a profile to a specific device.
Would be great to have the possibility to apply a custom profile to a specific device without having to create a new group!

Create Report For Installed Applications
Report on all installed applications across all devices. If users are in a group that allows applications to be installed, include the installed/detected applications on this report.
So, per application, number of installations, or a detail report per application that shows where it is installed (on which devices).
7 votesWe have just added an endpoint to the API that allows you to return a list of devices with a specific app installed and the versions installed on each device. This can be called on a per-app basis for apps that exist in your account's Catalog. Here is a link to the API documentation: https://simplemdm.com/docs/api/#list-installs
This API allows you to retrieve similar information to what you would find under the "Installs" tab when clicking into an app on the Catalog page.
I will close this suggestion for now, but if you feel that the "Installs" tab under Catalog > [app_name] and API are not sufficient for your needs, please do not hesitate to submit a new suggestion.

Include Custom Attributes in export
With custom attributes I now have a place for my asset tags and assigned to values, but these values are not exportable. Even the API makes it very hard to retrieve these fields.

Persistent settings (group) on re-enroll of device
We'd love to see devices automatically re-assign previous settings when the device is re-enrolled. Currently, if a device is in SimpleMDM and gets erased/wiped locally, the device will re-enroll and be placed in the "Default" group, most settings are lost (Except Device Name).
It would be useful if a device that gets re-enrolled would automatically appear in the group it was previously in rather than the default group.
3 votesThis is now the default behavior if "Force device group assignment" is unchecked on the enrollment being used to re-enroll the device.

lost mode via API
I would like to be able to enable lost mode via API.
Better, would be the ability to configure a given time since a device has last reported its location… or last checked in, and allow either lost mode or lock to be enabled by MDM itself.

Allow deploying of files/books to iBooks
Allow deploying of files/books to iBooks. We would like to post and push some internal documentation into iBooks. This would be very helpful for our engineering staff who are out in the field so that they they do not need to carry service manuals with them.

Support self-enrollment using directory service credentials
Provide for directory service (AD et al) user authentication information to be used for self-enrollment of devices. The authenticated user information should also be written to the device record so we know that user is tied to the enrolled device.
9 votesPlease see our authentication options under enrollments. If you have a particular use case that is not supported by our current implementation, please create a new ticket with specific information so that we may keep track of the request.

Quick Look App Version Installation
Have a section on the portal which shows each app and version and how many devices are on each.
This would be useful to see how many devices have downloaded the new version of an app.
9 votesThis is available under the App Details > Installs tab.

Hide API key until a 'reveal' button is pressed on the Settings > API page
https://a.simplemdm.com/admin/api
As noted on the page itself, 'Note: Take care to protect your account key. It is just as powerful as your username and password.'
It would be nice if the key was hidden on view when you visit the page and instead there was a button near it that reveals the key temporarily. Would help prevent accidentally showing API key and looks better in demos.
Thanks in advance!

Allow import of custom profiles for a single device.
As it is now, you can upload a custom configuration profile to a group. It would be great to have a option to put some configuration profile on a single device, not having to create a group for this one device and then upload the custom profile.

Managed App Configurations by Device Group
It would be a great advantage to be able to apply a slightly different device configuration based on the Device Group. In the case of multiple iPad Kiosks that simply load a website, The Device Groups each require a unique home page set in KioskPro Plus.
Let me know if I'm missing some part of the interface that provides this.
Thanks.
9 votesThis can now be accomplished using custom attributes. Custom attributes can be assigned values at the device group level.

Allow self installation of apps using SimpleMDM App
We have numerous users in the field who should be able to re-install an approved app if necessary. Currently this requires calling us and bogs us down quite a bit.

Accept XML uploads in order to create custom App Configurations while pushing Apps.
In order to have specific fields included when an app is first pushed, XML files and custom configurations for apps would be much appreciated.

Device Details Report
Provide for some reporting. It doesn't have to be much but the ability to print all device detail in a single report would do the trick.
7 votesClosing this request since this is available with the Export Devices CSV. If there is something additional you'd like to see implemented, please submit a new suggestion outlining the problem or functionality.
