Cellular data usage alerts
Large cellular data usage alerts.
It'd be nice to be able receive alerts when a user uses more than x amount of data:
a) x many days
b) between two dates per month

Create different groups of restrictions and make it possible to apply these restrictions on serveral groups of devices.
This way you don't have to manually set the restrictions every time.

Support iOS 9's Per Device Licensing
In iOS 9, apps distributed through an MDM which supports it can now be associated directly with a device rather than an Apple ID.
This would significantly simply many large-scale deployments of purposed devices by removing the need for an admin to set up an Apple ID for each device.

Disable and limit cellular data usage
Ability to disable or limit cellular data usage. Would be nice if you can set a device max data usage limit and have it auto disable when the max has been reached. my teen needs constant monitoring on her data usage.

Push Web Clips and other Configurations
It appears when I add a new web clip that it does not push out to all of the devices, but when I delete a web clip, they are removed from the devices. Would be nice to have a button to push configuration changes as a whole, or even individual configurations out to devices so we know that it is happening.
3 votesIn certain situations, iOS will not remove webclips from the home screen until the device is restarted. This is independent of MDM. We agree that it’s frustrating. You should receive a notice in SimpleMDM when this is potentially the case.

Enable location history
The location tracking feature is great, but there needs to be a history feature so that administrators can see where the device has been in the past.

2 Factor Authentication when logging in to the site will help keep managed device information save.
An option to log in qith password and a code that is sent to the phone as a second authentication method would help keep things secure.

RESTful API to upload/delete apps
We push new versions of our apps often. It would be helpful to have RESTful API so we could push new versions of apps and delete old versions.

Ability to nest groups so that you can push apps to a subset of devices without having to move them to a separate group.
I have groups of devices set up, but also have a need to push apps to only certain devices within the group. right now i have to move them to another group, which means i have to then add that new group to all of the app distributions that their previous group had. if i could nest groups, i could push apps to the parent group or just the child group if needed.

Remove the reveal password option under email account settings to increase security
There is an option to reveal the email account password. If someone hacks into the MDM they could potentially get access to all user passwords by simply clicking reveal.

Provide iOS 8 support upon the release of the new operating system with the new features including renaming of devices, blocking the setup of Restrictions and device backup queries.

Show a loading animated icon for transition between screens
Its not very clear that the site is doing anything when you click on a menu item on the left, you wait, with no feedback that anything is happening, before suddenly the screen changes. Would be easier to use if there was a transition, such as a loading icon.

Ability to bulk delete a specific app from all devices in a group
When removing an app from an app distribution group, also have it actually remove the app from all of the devices in that group.
Or maybe if it's better to separate, have some other way to remove an app from a set of devices, maybe select from the list of devices or something along those lines.

Add Account as part of group deployment
It would be great if we did not have to add an email account to each device separately. Instead have it as part of group deployment settings with a request to enter credentials.
24 votesEmail accounts can now be assigned at the device group level. If the username and password field values are unique for each device, they can be left blank so that the user is prompted for the values. If you would like to add them as an administrator, custom attributes can be used to create username and password values on a per-device basis.

Give the option to force encrypted backups (iTunes sync) or not
Enrolled devices require encrypted backups when syncing with iTunes. It would be nice to have control over this.
6 votesI believe the "Force encrypted backups" option in the Restrictions profile should satisfy this and there hasn't been any new activity on this request for a while, so I'm closing this. Please feel free to open a new suggestion if there is still a need here.
